The Bunch TE Corner Flat is one of the most unstoppable plays in Madden 09. The way that we've designed this play creates an overload on the left side of the field, forcing the opponent to account for everything. This play can also beat man to man defenses easily, but most top gamers will typically play zone. The key to this play is just making the correct read. We've simplified things with this setup because you really only have to focus on one side of the field now when dropping back in the pocket. Read below as we SportsGamer unveils another exclusive tip!
Quick Setup
Step 1 - Smart route the (Y) receiver's route (360 - Y + receiver's icon + press right analog stick down / PS3 - Triangle + receiver's icon + press right analog stick down).
Step 2 - Hot route the (B) receiver to perform a streak (360 - Y + receiver's icon + up on d-pad / PS3 - Triangle + receiver's icon + up on d-pad).
Step 3 - Hot route the (LB) running back to perform a drag (360 - Y + receiver's icon + flick right analog stick down / PS3 - Triangle + receiver's icon + flick right analog stick down).
Step 4 - Motion the (LB) running back to the left (360 / PS3 - Move icon onto player, then press d-pad left).
Step 5 - (optional) Hot route the (A) tight end to stay back and block (360 - Y + receiver's icon + RT / PS3 - Triangle + receiver's icon + R2).
Play Breakdown
As you take a look at the offensive assignments in the image above you can see what the play looks like before we have made any pre-snap adjustments.
Our opponent has called a Cover 3 zone defense. Again, it really doesn't matter what defense they're in as long as you make the correct read someone should be open almost everytime.
We begin setting up the play by using Step 1 and smart routing the (Y) receiver's route.
Next, we hot route the (B) receiver to perform a streak to pull the defense deeper downfield and help to open up things underneath.
We hot route the (LB) running back to perform a drag to make sure we have a player attacking the flats.
