Madden NFL 09 Demo Available July 22nd

July 21, 2008 4:03 pm - Author: Fred Villarruel

A demo will be released tomorrow, July 22nd, of Madden NFL 2009. The catch? It will be packaged with the NFL: IN JUST ONE PLAY DVD.

In Just One Play combines sound action and interviews to showcase the NFL’s most exciting players, including Randy Moss, Reggie Wayne, Larry Fitzgerald, Braylon Edwards, Adrian Peterson, LaDainian Tomlinson, Antonio Cromartie, Ed Reed and more. In Just One Play includes EA SPORTS' Madden NFL 09 Demo on Xbox 360. The Madden NFL Football franchise is celebrating its 20th Anniversary and, with over 70 million units sold, has become an annual staple in the cultural landscape. For the first time prior to Madden NFL’s retail launch, the demo will give players an early look at the game. The full version will be released on August 12th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, PSP, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo DS.

Sorry PS3 owners, but it looks like you get left out again. This demo that comes with  NFL: IN JUST ONE PLAY will be released only on XBOX 360. You can purchase the DVD from Warner Bros.com for $14.95. Is getting the demo worth the price of the DVD? Share your thoughts with us in our forums.

G----A----Y. it kinda sucks that you have 2 buy the DVD, but at least you 360 owners have a chance of playing the demo. I just want a little taste of what could be the best football game since NFL 2K5

What? does that mean we still get to play the demo, just not with the DVD? it says quote:
"This demo that comes with NFL: IN JUST ONE PLAY will be released only on XBOX 360."

Wow, a new low for EA. Charging people to play a demo and disguising it as some great deal because...what...we get somne interviews with some players? You have got to be kidding me. Now if they were going to credit the $14.95 towards the pourchase of the full version, now that would be acceptable. But to pay $15 for a demo and then sink another $60 on the full version?! No thanks. I can wait until the 12th.

I don't think this is a bad on EA's part so much as it is a bad on the NFL. It seems like they're using the deal they made with EA to push their own products.

Are you kidding me? They want us to fork over (bend over) 15 bucks just to play a demo! Now I know what the NFL really stands for...got money? Not For Long!

What is the point of XBL Gold if demos aren't released on Live?
Posted by: BallHawk50 on July 23, 2008, 6:08 am
Dang, that's weak I'll just have to wait till it actually comes out. Oh well, no biggy.

From what i hear its a waste anyway, just a madden moment where u get to be the giants against the pats and u got a minute to score and win the game, and u can't play as the pats, and if u fail the demo ends.

The demo is pretty hot. I hear it will be on Xbox live August 1st.
Posted by: jonbtrini on July 24, 2008, 4:25 am
The demo is ok....you play the Madden IQ challenge where you do the minicamps to determine your skill level in EACH specific phase of the game, Running, Passing, Defending the run, Defending the pass, and Pass rushing. After that, you do a Madden Moment, which features Giants against the Pats in Superbowl 42. You take over as the Giants on 4th and 1 with 1:35 on the clock trying to replicate a winning comeback drive. If you complete the task or fail, you have the option to retry it all over again right after you finish, so technically you could keep playing these 1:35 drives over and over and over and over again LOL, which I did for about an hour HAHA. You can only play as the Giants as previously stated.
